About this blog

Welcome to Tales Traversing Time!

My name is Dan, and I am a 24 year old guy living in Devon, England.  I'm currently unemployed, and using this time for writing- one of the primary reasons for having this blog.  I am aware that one of the best ways to motivate yourself for writing novels is by getting in the habit of writing something every day, by keeping something like a diary.  I thought I'd go one better, and have it as a semi-fictional diary, with stories related to my book as well.  As such, I created this blog which deals with the Past, Present, and Future.

Monday's blog is 'The Past': my Steampunk diary.  It is set 100 years ago, in 1912, yet will document my own day to day life.  Where possible I will try to find ways of turning modern devices into things that fit the period, such as cinemas are now 'shows', and out of town retail parks are 'markets'.  I wanted something a bit more interesting than a standard diary, and if all goes well with many readers then I may publish the diary as a book at the end of the year.

Wednesday's blog is 'The Future': short stories in the setting of my novel.  Set thousands of years in the future, after a large calamity created by the gods, the world is now inhabited by elves, humans, and shape-shifting animals.  I probably won't give much more away, but the blogs will be various stories that can act as a 'teaser' of things to come in my actual novel.

Friday's blog is 'The Present': anything I feel like adding about things going on, out of character.  I might give reviews on films and games I've been playing, or just pick a random subject to talk about- or indeed answer any questions readers may have.

I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy writing, and I hope to hear your comments!
